Defence CNC Machining

Defence work is different. The parts themselves aren't always technically harder than commercial work — an avionics enclosure bracket is a fairly straightforward 5-axis job. What's different is the documentation, the traceability, and the accountability.

Every defence order ships with a First Article Inspection report per AS9102. Every feature is measured and recorded. If a print calls for a 6.35mm hole +0.05/-0.00, the inspection report shows the actual measured value for every hole on every first article part. Configuration management per AS9103 means if the customer revises the print, we track exactly which serial numbers were affected and which were not.

We registered for ITAR in 2014. That means our IT systems, data handling, and physical security have been structured for export-controlled work from the beginning — not retrofitted later. It also means we can accept and store classified technical data packages securely.

Counterfeit part prevention is built into our procurement system. We source only from authorised distributors or directly from mills. Every incoming material cert is verified against the manufacturer's records. If a cert looks suspicious — and we've caught several over the years — we quarantine the material and verify independently before it touches a machine.
